Goal

Solaroof NY is a premier solar panel installer and roofing contractor In Long Island. The company aims to grow its market reach through organic website marketing strategies which helps capture online customers while promoting the use of sustainable energy and quality roofing services.

In mid-November 2024, we started working on the project with the understanding that Solaroof NY had significant problems during the preceding months, in particular with their click and impression rates. Understanding that there was a gap in Solaroof NY’s online presence, we decided to locally optimize the business for SEO to help them gain back the lost traffic.

The Strategy

Objective

Solaroof NY’s main target audience are the homeowners looking for roofing service  from the four main counties in Long Island including Nassau, Suffolk, Brooklyn, and Queens. Local service businesses utilize geographical area relevance of the searches on service provision; thus, the marketing strategy had to focus on extending the scope of Solaroof NY within those communities. 

We were sure that hyper-local SEO would deliver the expected results for Solaroof NY. Rather than trying to capture a big audience, we narrowed our focus on building Solaroof NY’s digital authority where it mattered most; which is, where they had the most solar panel and roofing installations.

Execution

Our approach was to blend technical local SEO with traditional local search optimization to enhance Solaroof NY’s online visibility and ultimately improve business performance. We looked at three biggest competitors and found gaps in local SEO signals and content that helped Solaroof NY to dominate the local market. 

We focused on specific service targeting keywords instead of broad ones like “solar installation” keywords. Blending “solar panel roof installation” with “Brooklyn solar roofing contractor” created highly targeted location and service specific keywords. Brooklyn was a no brainer due to high search volume and great potential for growth.

Adding geo-targeted sub-location pages and community reviews along with keyword optimization for service pages added credibility to the business. An internal linking restructure improved crawlability and sitemap efficiency while mobile page speed optimization enhanced overall performance.

Alongside local citation enhancement and NAP consistency management, updating Solaroof NY’s Google Business Profile to include service-specific categories improved trust ranking, helping establish the business as an authoritative figure in the solar and roofing industry.

The Results

Through this local SEO campaign, we accomplished an impressive growth milestone in just three months:
